Hi, I am Pamela Rubisch, the media specialist and technology coordinator at Rockland Woods Elementary. I am a National Board Certified Media Specialist and have worked in Washington County Public Schools for 22 years. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Clarion University where I earned a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, a Bachelor's in Library Science, and a Master's in Library and Information Sciences. I came to Washington County in 1992 and started at Conococheague Elementary, moved on to Emma K. Doub 10 years later to start the technology magnet program, and arrived at Rockland to open the doors in 2008. I have been the Washington County Teacher of the Year in 2001 and the Washington County Technology Educator of the Year in 2007. I also am a National Board Certified Media Specialist which I earned in November 2008. I love sharing my passion for literature through our library program, and my "techno nerd" side through our rockin' technology program.
Our school and media program is firmly based in technology and we use iPads and computers on a daily basis. We engage in research projects, create multimedia presentations, and always are looking for new ways to share information. We use My Big Campus for communication, and have been working with typing agent to improve our keyboarding skills.
I am a professional presence on Facebook, so friend me for the latest updates.
